BASIC ELEMENTS OF FAITH
2 Corinthians 5:7
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
7 For we walk by faith [we [a]regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.
Hebrews 11:6
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
Element: is an abstract part of something or Element is an essential or characteristic part of something abstract. That means we can say that element of faith are the basic things that makes up faith. It’s important to know these things because it helps you to understand faith itself, because a good understanding of faith will help you in exercising it effectively. In other words we are looking at the constituents of faith. Things that make up faith, and we must know that things that make up faith, also determine how faith works. This means when you see a man genuinely walking in faith you see this basic element in play either loudly or behind the scene.
There are basically four Elements of faith
- The Will of God
- The Word of God
- Believe System
- Acts (Actions)
Any man you see walking in faith is simply carrying out these four things knowingly.
So we will be looking at how all these affects our faith work and expression. Today we will be looking at the
- Will of God
The will of God speaks about the mind and intent of God regarding or concerning a matter, situation or things. The will of God shows us God’s mind on a matter. As believers our primary goal is to see the will of the father being made manifest in our lives
(1 John 2:17:And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.)
Can you see this, he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. This tells us that the will of God also determines your place of eternity.
(Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven)
In this scripture, Jesus was teaching His disciple prayers and pointed that God wants His will to be done on earth as it is heaven. Your faith is actually confined to the will of the father for you. You can’t exercise faith on matter when the will of God is not known on that matter, if not there will not be any result and manifestation. We don’t use faith to enforce our own desires and will. God will not respond to anything that does not correspond to the divine will of God, because as believer we are called to have faith in God
YOU EXERCISE YOUR FAITH IN THE DIRECTION OF THE FATHER’S WILL, if not you wouldn’t get result. Any form of faith exercised outside the father’s will is a waste of time and won’t produce any result. Faith is not a divine force for you to turn God into your slave and servant. You see some people making demands in prayer claiming to exercise faith, whereas what they are praying for is completely against God’s plan for them. Faith doesn’t work in assumptions, self will and desires. True faith is limited to the will of the father for that individual.
